The core group of actors who could star as regulars in the potential ABC series, S.H.I.E.L.D., have all been cast.

So far there’s only an order for a pilot episode to see how it looks, with The Avengers writer and director Joss Whedon also directing the pilot episode and co-writing it along with brother Jed Whedon and his wife Maurissa Tancharoen.

The pilot and potential series are of course based on the Marvel Comics secret intelligence organization, the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistic Directorate.

The cast consists of Clark Gregg, reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson, ER star Ming Na as Agent Melinda May, Ian De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, and Nashville star Chloe Bennet as Skye.
