The one thing that Despicable Me 2 has going for it, aside from Agnes, that one kid known for screeching “it’s so fluffy,” are those tiny yellow minions that are constantly causing mayhem and by the side of Gru (voiced by Steve Carell).
The first trailer wasn’t too heavy on the details, which is fine by all means since it was a teaser trailer, as was the second trailer. Now a new more plot centric trailer has revealed a lot of detail about the story that will force Gru to fight for the good side.

Lets be honest, the fact that Gru is “back in the game” but for the side of good isn’t nearly as interesting as him trying to cope with fatherhood. Especially since his adoptive daughters are getting older; I love how Agnes thinks she knows what makes Gru a boy – parents should probably use bald heads as a frame of reference to define genders to their kids.
But damn, those yellow minions provide so much of the comedy that it’s no wonder they are already getting their own spin off movie. In addition to Carell’s voice, Al Pacino, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan, Russell Brand, and Ken Jeong also lend their voice talents.
Despicable Me 2 opens in theaters on July 3rd.
