Sony Pictures has been trying to keep The Amazing Spider-Man 2 footage in the dark from the general public and anything regarding the forthcoming sequels a huge secret. Sure enough there have been a couple of teases and hints that indicate that Spider-Man will face his greatest challenge: the Sinister Six. We already know that Jamie Foxx will play Electro and Paul Giamatti is the Rhino, with Chris Cooper and Dane Dehaan signed on to play Norman and Harry Osborn, respectively. As we can expect to see a condensed version of the footage that was seen at Comic-Con in the near future, more production photos from the film have been released, and one of them reveals – or teases – a nice surprise.
ComingSoon posted the photos today, featuring images from the film, as well as those from behind the scenes. Check out the photos here below.
Again, we see Giamatti add to his repertoire of wacky faces a pre-Rhino transformation, a presumably hooded Electro, DeHaan’s camerawork, and good ol’ Stan Lee. But perhaps the most interesting photos of the bunch is one with the Sinister Six name painted on the stage doors. It’s far (very far, in fact) from a confirmation, but it acknowledges the fact that they are paying attention to both the fans and the web.
Directed by Marc Webb, with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone returning to reprise their starring roles, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in theaters on May 2, 2014.
Peter Parker continues to adjust to his crime fighting life as Spider-Man and relationship with Gwen Stacy while dealing with new enemies, the return of Harry Osborn, and discovering more about his past.
Wouldn’t be surprised if we see the Sinister six in an ‘Amazing Spider-man’ movie – but personally hoping it wont be till the sixth film. Their is a lot of characters and I want them to be likeable villains.
