Femme Fatales
The Complete Second Season
DVD
Directed by Mark A. Altman and Robert Meyer Burnett
Starring Tanit Phoenix, Eric Roberts, Steve Railsback
Entertainment One
Release Date: July 16, 2013
The Cinemax series Femme Fatales must be some kind of hit for the pay cable network best known for having a saucier programming line-up than their competition. As the old saying goes, if it’s 1 a.m. in the morning and two big-bosomed lesbians are getting it on then brother you’re probably watching Cinemax. Based partially on a long-running men’s magazine specializing in profiles of actresses and starlets from the B-grade sci-fi, horror, and action flicks going back six decades or more, Femme Fatales is an anthology series designed to appeal to the periodical’s readership. The show features stories of crime, passion, betrayal, murder, and occasionally some truly off-the-wall material that star at least one or two recognizable characters actors or actresses who never quite took hold of that big brass ring but still manage to keep their careers alive and kicking. The show’s second season ran from May to August of 2012 and now Entertainment One has collected every episode in the new 3-disc DVD set Femme Fatales: The Complete Second Season.

| New ‘Assassin’s Creed 4’ Trailer Focuses On What Next-Gen Will Offer
Ubisoft has not been stingy when it comes to sharing footage and trailers for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and there’s nothing wrong with that if you’re a fan of the series. In this latest video the focus is on the smaller, more technical things you can look for when playing the game for the first time on a next-gen console, such as water and foliage, lighting, and dynamic weather system. And this of course is the earliest of next-gen capabilities, as it was also designed for current consoles, so it should be exciting to see where things go from here. You can get a closer look at the next-gen technology used in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag below.

| Disney In Depth: 20 Best ‘Boy Meets World’ Episodes (Part 1)
Boy Meets World, the coming-of-age series of our childhood and adolescence, reaches its 20th anniversary this September since it first debuted to the “world.” In honor of this special occasion, I thought we should look back at this ABC series, produced by Disney’s formerly-named Touchstone Television, to recognize some of its best episodes. Now we all have our favorites, each for different reasons. This serves as the first edition of a two-part Disney In Depth that reflects on my 20 favorites with a clip from each episode – in no particular order, only listed from the series’ beginning to end – and why each possesses a special gift.

| It’s Jason Statham Vs. James Franco In The First Trailer For Sylvester Stallone-Scripted ‘Homefront’ |

What do you want from your action movie trailer? No matter what it is you may seek, the first trailer for Homefront is here to bring it to you. Homefront has a very interesting pedigree for typical flick where Jason Statham kicks a bunch of outmatched morons right square in the buttocks without once cracking a smile. It was directed by Gary Fleder (Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead) and based on the novel by Chuck Logan – the sixth featuring his popular hero, ex-Minnesota cop Phil Broker. The film version was adapted by none other than Statham’s valiant Expendables leader Sylvester Stallone and relocates the plot from a small Minnesota town to a rural Southern community. Statham’s Phil Broker is now an ex-D.E.A. agent who moved down South with his daughter to live the quiet life and ride horses every day. All seems well until the day Broker crosses paths with local meth kingpin Gator, played by….wait for it….James Franco. Needless to say, a lot of blood is going to be spilled by the time this movie rolls its end credits. You can watch it in all its deranged splendor here below.
