It’s been a long, long time that people have wondered when we would see Wonder Woman back on the screen. Many attempts have been made—some on the big screen, some on the small—with none ever working out. It seemed like this legendary and iconic superhero was destined to fail time and time again.
But now all of that changes. It’s being reported that an actress has been chosen to play Wonder Woman, though it will not be in her own movie…at least not yet. This Wonder Woman will appear in Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel sequel, currently being called Batman vs. Superman.
The actress isn’t any of the many huge names that’s been rumored or wished for over the years. Her name is Gal Gadot, and she’s a 28-year-old Israeli actress. Not only that, but she also won the Miss Israel crown in 2004, represented the country in the Miss Universe pageant, AND is ex-Israeli military.
Gadot is perhaps best recognized from her work in the Fast and Furious franchise. She played the character Gisele in 2009’s Fast & Furious, 2011’s Fast Five, and 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. She also appeared on an episode of Entourage, and appeared in other movies such as Date Night and Knight and Day.
Gadot joins the two leads of the movie, Henry Cavill, who’s reprising his role as Clark Kent/Superman, and Ben Affleck, who will be trying to win people over as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

The more I hear about this movie the more it sounds like the suck. Just sounds like over the top compensation for The Avengers. Too much done too fast. Too many characters thrown in without respect for them individually. As for Ms. Gadot, she’s way too skinny and frail looking to be “the” Amazonian princess. Seriously, have you seen this woman’s arms? She looks anorexic. But, I guess if you’re into Amazon warriors with an eating disorder… sheesh.

The Amazons in DC are supernatural, they don’t have to be overdone weightlifters.
It is pretty awesome to see WW as being an actual Greek/Mediterranean woman, rather than an overdone American.
Anorexic Wonder Woman. Looks weak and sick. Very unpleasant. And a very damaging model to be copied by girls.

Christopher Reeve was skins and bones and he was cast as Superman. He then put on some muscle and the rest is history. Gadot’s an athlete, a dancer and had military training as it is mandatory in Israel. She’ll put on some muscle courtesy of the same people who beefed up Henry Cavill. Give it time.
Perfect. Toned muscle on top of a bony frame. With the breasts of a 14 year old boy… and no butt. I guess they can use her costume to cover her bony sternum. The ideal Wonder Woman, without a doubt. Can’t wait.

I agree Gadot is thin. Perhaps a bit for my own taste as well but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how her training turns out in a year or so.
What a depressing turn of events. She’s WAY too thin (as in stick figure thin) and is basically not even an actress either. Was I the only person alive who wanted Gina Carano or some real kick-a** woman? This is making me so depressed.

She’s hardly an Amazon.
