Attention, swashbucklers! Get out your swords and mount your horses. BBC One is launching a new drama series, The Musketeers, based on Alexandre Dumas‘ classic book, The Three Musketeers, and has released a one-minute trailer.
Watch the trailer here below.
With the show beginning in January 2014, fans can expect to see Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi portraying Cardinal Richelieu.
The series debut will feature relative small screen newbie Howard Charles as Porthos, Luke Pasqualino (Skins) as D’artagnan, Santiago Cabrera (Merlin, Heroes) as Aramis, and Tom Burke (The Hour) as Athos. Another star that some may recognize is Alexandra Dowling (who played Roslin Frey on HBO’s Games of Thrones), who will play Queen Anne.
The trailer appears to remain true to the Musketeers spirit, depicting action, romance, betrayal, politics, and brotherhood. Created and written by Adrian Hodges, season one will include ten episodes.

Will watch. Certainly looks better than PWS Anderson’s one. Though likely will not match up to Lester’s classic 70’s movies.
