| Wait, What?! Syfy NOT Moving Forward With ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome’ |
This is one of those surreal moments in life, the likes of which no geek wants to experience. While writing up a short piece for the the awesome first trailer for Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica prequel, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, I went to find out when this exciting new series was going to finally premiere. The answer I found was: never. It’s being reported that Syfy has decided NOT to move forward with the show after years of development. As it turns out, the “trailer” was just a demo reel set to Trent Reznor and Karen O’s “Immigrant Song” cover from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo that was shown at WonderCon. Syfy apparently thought it over for a long time, but ultimately decided it was not in their best interest (who cares what the fans want, right?) to continue forward with the property as a series. This might not, however, mean that we’ll never see Blood & Chrome. You can read why there’s still some hope to see this and check out the fast-paced first “trailer” by clicking on over to the other side now.

| ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Prequel ‘Blood And Chrome’ Casts Its Young Adama |
The Battlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, met its end far too soon despite being a very well-made show. For one reason or another, fans of BSG simply decided not to follow the show as religiously, leading to its untimely fate. As we were waiting to hear the fate of Caprica from the executives at Syfy, they announced the plans for another spinoff series called Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. The show was to be another prequel, set in between the storylines of BSG and Caprica when William Adama was still a young pilot. We saw a glimpse of this younger Adama in the direct-to-DVD movie (which they should make more of immediately — we miss the real cast), Razor, and fans wondered if the actor that played the youthful future Admiral, Nico Cortez, would be returning for Blood and Chrome. Now we have that answer. It’s been announced that Cortez will NOT be returning, and that instead an actor by the name of Luke Pasqualino has been cast. In addition to that, it was announced that Ben Cotton has been cast to play the young Adama’s commanding officer. Pasqualino is a 20-year-old actor from England who appeared on the U.K. version of Skins.

| ‘Harry Potter’ Baddie Tom Felton Joins ‘The Twilight Saga’ Brain Ashley Greene In Dark Castle’s ‘The Apparition’ |
Dark Castle Entertainment is known for their many contributions to the horror genre. One of their upcoming titles is The Apparition. The movie is adding a new name to the cast which now creates an interesting fusion of different juggernaut franchises. ShockTilYouDrop is reporting that Tom Felton, who is best known as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, has been cast in the movie. Felton joins The Twilight Saga star Ashley Greene, creating said fusion. It’s always fun when the stars of two major franchises show up together in a completely different franchise, so all of the Potter-heads and Twi-hards will surely go nutty for this. Then again, sometimes these fusions are pretty anti-climactic, like when Firefly‘s Nathan Fillion teamed up with Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff for White Noise 2. Shame. Not a whole lot is known about the movie, but it will delve into the realms of the supernatural when some sort of college experiment doesn’t go quite as planned.
