The Fables Encyclopedia, by Jess Nevins, covers issues 1 – 121, and 1001 Nights of Snowfall. After only a few pages, it became clear to me that this is an indispensible tome, serving to compliment, and enhance the issues it covers. Hopefully, there’ll be a second volume in another decade or so.

It’s loaded with panels from the comics, helping to refresh memories for more obscure characters, and includes enriching sidebar comments from Bill Willingham “” check out his notes on the Hope character “” cryptically cool! Plus, there are also fourteen pages of issue by issue annotations, as well as lots of behind-the-scenes tidbits, and clever revelations, such as artist Mark Buckingham‘s inspiration for Tom Harrow.

Thor Stars Natalie Portman Chris Hemsworth on The Graham Norton Show

Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth, who star together in the upcoming sequel Thor: The Dark World, made an appearance recently on BBC TV’s The Graham Norton Show, where Portman talked about the huge different in height between her and her co-star. The actors then stood up to show the audience that Hemsworth, who plays the mighty Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is about a foot and a half taller than Portman (wearing 4-inch heels!), who plays Thor’s human love interest Jane.

This seemed like a great time for host Graham Norton to bust out the Thor and Jane action figures to show the difference in their heights, as well, to great humorous effect.

Check out the video of this here below.

Trick 'r Treat 2 title card

Last week, we told you about the special theatrical screening and live panel with the stars for Michael Dougherty‘s Trick “˜r Treat taking place on October 28 in Hollywood, CA. During last night’s post-screening panel, which included director Dougherty and stars Dylan Baker (who we interviewed here), Brian Cox, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, and Quinn Lord, a sequel to the Halloween horror anthology was announced!

The news that Legendary Pictures would be doing Trick ‘r Treat 2 was revealed during an audience Q&A session at the panel, which was hosted by Seth Green. A title card for the sequel was also unveiled (see image here at top).

The theatrical screening and the panel were both live-streamed, though there were some technical difficulties throughout the night with the stream. We had our man The Iceman on the scene at the event at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood – see his photo here below from the panel.
