The Grand Budapest Hotel Cast of Characters Trailer

We’ve already seen an excellent trailer for the unmistakably Wes Anderson-directed dark comedy The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Back in April, I reviewed Hawken: Genesis, Archaia’s prequel tie-in to the hit, free online multi-player game, Hawken. Having never played an online multi-player game, I enjoyed the graphic novel so much that I even considered pursuing the world it’s set in some more within its main form of media. Well, Boom has just released issue one of the their sequel series, Hawken: Melee, and I obviously jumped at the chance to check out the newest venture into the gritty, war-torn world of Hawken. Does it live up to its predecessor? Find out below.

In Hawken: Melee #1, I was submerged into battle with a Mech (giant robot controlled by a human) pilot who was caught in the middle of a fast-paced attack from multiple opponents. “20 Seconds,” the first title in the five stand-alone issues series, literally takes place within the span of twenty seconds, though it feels much longer.

Filmography 2013

Filmography is a annual series by YouTube user Gen Ip, who edits together clips from the various movies released in a given year and music in what’s become a can’t-miss celebration of the art of filmmaking. The videos even include movies people generally think of as awful, and yet, in what can only be assumed is some kind of sorcery, fuses them together seamlessly with great movies as if they always belonged together.

For Filmography 2013, Gen Ip has nailed it again, with yet another inspiring reminder of why we love the movies so darn much. The seven-minute video consists of clips from 300 of the films of 2013, and can be seen below!

What happens if you mix an adventure worthy of Indiana Jones with the sass and sarcasm of Hellboy, and then sprinkle it with a heaping helping of holiday magic? You get the surprisingly entertaining dark comedy from Image Comics: Krampus #1 by Brian Joines.

It’s probably tough to pull off a Christmas-themed comic that actually appeals to fans who prefer a gritty story over one covered in sugarplums and dipped in chocolate, and I say this because I recall only one other (The Last Christmas by Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan) that managed it. Brian Joines, however, has stepped up to the Christmas comic challenge and has emerged victorious thanks to his delightfully wicked “hero” and his own twisted sense of humor.

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is no stranger to a multitude of genres and genre bending. There was even a time when the director was contemplating retirement thinking he had accomplished all he wanted to accomplish in the business.
