Guardians of the Galaxy is undoubtedly one of Marvel Studios’ biggest gambles to date. The team and its members — a rag tag mix of humans and aliens facing odd villains — are not household names like Iron Man, Hulk, or Captain America. The upcoming film doesn’t even intend on being a part of what’s going on with The Avengers, but it is in the same canon.
But that is definitely an advantage to a film like this, as it brings in a fresh new look to a studio that has found huge success at the box office. Now we’ve already seen what Bradley Cooper sounds like as Rocket Raccoon, now it is time to introduce you to the rest of the cast of characters that make up the Guardians of the Galaxy aka the “bunch of a-holes.”
These videos merely introduce us to the character each actor is playing or voicing. Though Vin Diesel says he is voicing Groot, we don’t get to hear the character speak. But won’t be a huge spoiler anyway since Groot only says “I am Groot.” Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista all talk about their respective characters, and how they relate to them. Don’t fret though, as there are a couple of scenes shown in these videos that weren’t shown in the trailer, like one behind-the-scenes look at Nebula (Karen Gillan) fighting Gamora (Saldana).
These videos come off the heels of a small social media campaign where fans were asked who they like to see more of in promotional material. I’d say the marketing team has responded well.
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters on August 1, 2014.

Doesn’t intend on being part of The Avengers? Just wait until Avengers 3
