A new extended trailer for The Musketeers has been released for the BBC America premiere on June 22, 2014. Created and written by Adrian Hodges, season one will include ten episodes

With some of the same scenes from the previous trailer for BBC 1, we do see some new footage here as well. This teaser shows a lighter air than the prior, and is bound to excite Three Musketeers fans as well as the general viewing public.

The 60-second spot portrays a healthy dose of plotting, fighting, romance and, of course, explosions. Musketeer enemy Cardinal Richelieu, played by Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi, delivers some ominous one-liners such as, “It’s these musketeers who will ruin France” and “Nothing will stand in my way.”

And if the success of the U.K. show is any indication (it has already been picked up for a second season), The Musketeers may be ready to sweep up America in their adventures.
