Disney has released the second trailer for Christopher Robin, which sees Winnie the Pooh and the rest of his endearing lovable fluffy friends of the Hundred Acre Wood returning for an all new live-action adventure.
In it, we see an older Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) forced to put his demanding job first over his family. Sensing that there is a crisis, Pooh and his friends help Christopher remember the joys of family life, the value of friendship, and to appreciate the simple pleasures in life once again. Check out the full trailer below.
So here we have yet another Disney classic getting the live-action treatment. It’s a formula that has worked out really well for Walt Disney Studios, whose hits include Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and most recently Beauty and the Beast.
This thing looks so damn cheery that it may be impossible not to smile. Following that short teaser trailer, the full-length trailer gives us a better sense of the story and the new adventures Christopher Robin will go on. How could anyone not smile as he goes through Pooh’s struggles of being caught?
And let’s not forget the voice talents behind Christopher Robin’s cuddly friends. There’s the legendary Jim Cummings who returns to voice Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Toby Jones as Owl, Nick Mohammed as Piglet, Peter Capaldi as Rabbit, and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga. And for the live-action side, the film also stars Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael, and Mark Gatiss.
Christopher Robin is directed by Finding Neverland‘s Marc Forester from a screenplay by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
In the heartwarming live action adventure Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” the young boy who shared countless adventures with his band of lovable stuffed animals in the Hundred Acre Wood is now grown up and living in London but he has lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasures in life once again.
