We finally have a new poster for Guardians of the Galaxy. Following the somewhat quiet and subdued “You’re Welcome” poster that was released days after the first trailer came out, Marvel has released this action-packed movie poster, and it has everything a poster fan could ever dream of wanting in a poster. No backs turned to the audience, no floating heads, it’s not completely blue, red, or orange, or any other color for that matter. It is, in fact, one of the best action movie posters in recent memory, and it isn’t even from Mondo.

The marketing for Guardians of the Galaxy has been a very calculated one. The film is indeed one of Marvel/Disney’s biggest gambles to date. An unknown property, featuring a ragtag of heroes that consists of a human, a green-skinned assassin, a destroyer, a talking tree, and a killer raccoon. Odds are only hardcore fans know the names of those heroes, but with the film’s marketing slowly amping up, its safe to say that the general audience will become more familiar with these heroes as we get closer to the August 1 release.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Facebook page also announced that there would be a new trailer released on Monday 1PM EST/10AM PST, which would be followed by a Q&A with film stars Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Dave Bautista.
Guardians of the Galaxy also stars Zoe Saldana as Gamora, with the voices of Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket. Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou. John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro, and more also have roles.
