The header photo should no way indicate or confirm that J’Son of Spartax is Peter Quill’s father in Guardians Of The Galaxy. In the film, Peter’s mother says that his father was an angel of light. Yondu didn’t provide many other clues either as all he said was that he was hired by Peter’s father to retrieve him after Peter’s mother died.

Many suspected that J’Son would be the father, but Gunn confirmed that it wouldn’t be the character in the comics, and that only a few people knew who it is. Now, the director, who is working on a sequel, has revealed a shortlist, and has already crossed off a name, narrowing it down a bit.

Obviously this shortlist was meant as a joke. I mean seriously, Kevin Bacon is Peter Quill’s father? That basically means Bacon is a deadbeat dad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although if he is the father, he would basically be one of the most powerful beings in the MCU.

In all seriousness, the photo was released hours after Sony announced that they have no plans on releasing The Interview, after North Korean hackers threatened 9/11-style attacks if the movie was shown. Celebrities have already voiced their reactions on social media, many of them disagreeing with Sony’s decision to yield to the threats. While Kim Jong-un’s name is crossed off the list of possible fathers, I’m not exactly sure how the world would react if North Korea went after the Guardians of the Galaxy. But I can imagine that it wouldn’t be a very pretty sight.
