We knew that Game of Thrones would be returning to HBO for Season 5 this coming April, but exactly when had yet to be announced.
Now, HBO has revealed that the highly anticipated 10-episode run of Season 5 of their popular fantasy series will begin airing on April 12, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, followed by the season premieres of Silicon Valley (10:00-10:30pm) and Veep (10:30-11:00pm).
Silicon Valley, the comedy series from Mike Judge (Office Space, King of the Hill), will see the start of its second season; while the political comedy Veep, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, begins its fourth season.
No trailers have been released yet for Season 5 of Game Of Thrones, which is based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels. But, we did get a tiny glimpse of new footage in HBO’s year-end roundup video, as well as a look at concept art for Arya’s new costume. Also, a behind-the-scenes featurette titled Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Day In A Life will air on HBO this February, while this month will see the show become the first television series to be shown in IMAX, as some episodes from Season 4 will be screened in select IMAX theaters nationwide.
