This week on Gotham 1.18 “Everyone Has a Cobblepot” proves, in fact, that everyone does have one. The Cobblepot reference comes from when Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) was forced to kill Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), but faked it way back in the pilot.
Commisioner Loeb (Peter Scolari) has dirt on everyone on the GCPD and was able to get Bullock (Donal Logue) to lie about lying, to not only set Flass (Dash Mihok) free, but as a nominee to head the police union. Jim partners with Harvey Dent (Nicholas D’Agosto) to get to the bottom of the corruption. That doesn’t work out too well, although Dent is adorably idealistic. Bullock saves the day of course. He really is a hero. They go to Penguin, who gleefully agrees to help for a giant promise of a future favor, and end up in a weird farmhouse holding Loeb’s secrets. It’s crazy!
Finally! Dr. Francis Dulmacher (Colm Feore) is here and he does not know what to make of Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith). She is anxious to prove herself to him, but the cost of failure might not be worth it. Feore plays The Dollmaker so incredibly creepy and calm in that serial killer way, he does not even realize how psychotic he is. But she knows. Fish is a survivor though, and will put herself in the best position possible wherever she is.
There are no less than three surprises at the end of this episode. Watch!
We don’t get another episode until April 13th. I’m sure FOX and Gotham will tease us mercilessly until then, which will be hand delivered to you right here. If you need to refresh yourself on recent events, be sure to check out Fish’s new eye, and the corruption promo.
