| Neil Patrick Harris, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Join ‘The Matrix 4’; Jada Pinkett Smith In Talks To Return |
|
We’ve been hearing about a new installment in the Matrix franchise for some time now. Back in 2011 star Keanu Reeves said that sequels were being developed. Then in 2014 it was rumored that the next Matrix movies could be prequels. Then in 2017 came word that Warner Bros. was developing a reboot instead of sequels or prequels, which was followed a few days later by a denial of the reboot news from screenwriter Zak Penn, who had been hired to work on a new movie in the franchise at the time. Things were quiet for a couple of years after that, but in August of this year it was confirmed that The Matrix 4 was finally becoming a reality with original stars Reeves and Carrie Ann Moss returning. Lana Wachowski, who wrote and directed the original trilogy with Lilly Wachowski, is also returning though it doesn’t appear that Lilly is involved at the moment.. And now, more casting has been announced. Last week Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was cast in the sequel, and this week Neil Patrick Harris signed on. Jada Pinkett Smith is also in talks to return.

Air Date: Monday, October 10th, 2016, 8pm Last week on Gotham, The Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel) came to town looking for his sister, Alice (Naian Gonzalez Norvind), and to kill a few people (him, not her… okay, maybe her too a litte). He hypnotized a few people for sport, but really laid a whammy on Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), causing him to want to kill himself. Alice saved him. Bruce and Alfred (David Mazouz and Sean Pertwee) got to know “5” a bit – he’s super strong and cannot feel pain. He also harbors the same Selina (Camren Bicondova) crush, so he gave himself a haircut and went to her, after Bruce made her sad. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) decided to run for mayor and freed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) from Arkham. Lee (Morena Baccharin) returned to the GCPD. Warning! Spoilers ahead for tonight’s episode.

Air Date: Monday, October 3rd, 2016, 8pm Last week on Gotham, Bruce (David Mazouz) came to an understanding with the secret evil group who killed his parents and corrupted his company. Oh, and his doppelgänger showed up at Wayne Manor. A very different looking Ivy (Maggie Geha) crawled out of the water. She murdered the man who helped her because he neglected his plants. Bullock (Donal Logue) got kidnapped and “persuaded” to help Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) find Dr. Strange (BD Wong). The GCPD, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) with his angry mob showed up at the scene. Jim snuck in to save Harvey, promising Fish a way out. That promise had a catch. Penguin was waiting for her, but was so moved by her reasons of being unable to kill him, that he let her go. Spoilers below.

Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) became queen of the monsters, as the whole city hunted for her. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) made the pot sweeter by offering 1 million dollars for her capture, and then acted sweeter by proclaiming his friendship for Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) Jim Gordon’s new bounty hunter job put him right in line to capture monsters for cash. Ace reporter Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung) showed up as Jim’s next love interest, er… informant? Bruce and Alfred (David Mazouz and Sean Pertwee) returned home to a pissed off Selina (Camren Bicondova), and to piss off the board at Wayne Enterprises. Bruce told them that he has the goods on them. They promptly kidnapped him. One of Mooney’s goons killed Mrs. Peabody by speedy aging, and seemed to kill Ivy (Clare Foley) the same way, as she fell a long long way. Spoilers below.
