On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon a few days ago, host Jimmy Fallon played a fun bit (aren’t they all fun?) called Audience Suggestion Box. I guess Game of Thrones is on everyone’s minds lately since Season 5 is set to start on Sunday, April 12th. The suggestion was for The (ever versatile) Roots to perform a Game of Thrones rap to get everyone up to speed and ready to watch the next season.
Check out that awesomeness here below.
Fallon said that he couldn’t do it, but knew Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter was up to the task, as we knew he would be. He began his rap with:
“King Joffrey was dead and gone.
Soon after saying them wedding vows.
Apparently’s poison in the vial.
Everybody blamed it on Tyrion.”
Fallon: “You are the best!”
We agree, Jimmy Fallon.
Some past suggestions have included confessions followed by silly sound effects, the actual “you’ve got mail” AOL guy speaking other phrases, seeing what pics are in Jimmy’s wallet, and hear how The Roots sound playing with only one hand each (those videos also below).
Game of Thrones 5.1 “The Wars To Come” returns Sunday, April 12th, at 9pm on HBO. Catch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon five days a week at 11:35pm ET on NBC.
