Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow of The Night’s Watch, visited Late Night with Seth Meyers last night in anticipation of the Season 5 premiere airing Sunday, April 12th, at 9pm ET on HBO.
Check out the videos of his appearance here below, including one where host Seth Meyers brings Jon Snow to a dinner party.
Harington and Meyers talked about a couple of things, including:
– On not reading the other parts of the script: “I wanted to see what the hype is about, I wanted to see if it’s as gripping as everyone keeps banging on about.”
– On Belfast (his almost sole set location): “It’s wonderful for two or three days.”
In the second video, Seth Meyers brings Jon Snow to a dinner party, and as the other guests remark on the warming weather, Jon Snow has other things to say:
Part of Jon Snow’s remark? “Winter is coming. The snow will fall 100 feet deep. The ice wind will howl out the north. The sun hides its face for years, and little children will all be born and die in the darkness.”
Dinner guest to Jon Snow, “Do you and your father keep in touch?”
Jon Snow: “His head was chopped off.”
Needless to say, he is NOT the life of the party. Seth does try to coach him aside on proper behavior. “I’m just making small talk,” Jon says. “No, no, no. None of that is small talk,” replies Meyers. It is only until Jon Snow reenacts the entire Game of Thrones that the dinner guests accept him. And yes, that other signature line is snuck in there. Watch it. This is good stuff.

Harrington loves sword fighting and the show’s extras, but feels less enthusiastic about filming in Belfast.
