Weird Loners premiered last week on FOX and did provide us with some giggles. After a brief recap of last week’s episode, you will get a review of tonight’s.

It’s a comedy – there’s not much in the way of spoilers.

Last week on Weird Loners 1.1 “Pilot,” we were introduced to the foursome who are more than weird, they are incredibly eccentric. Originally, Eric (Nate Torrence) and Caryn (Becki Newton) are neighbors. He lives with his dad, and she has a much younger roommate. But his dad dies and her roommate has one too many naked guys running out of the house, so they find themselves alone. But not for long. Eric’s cousin Stosh (Zachary Knighton) finds himself out of a job (for sleeping with everybody’s wives and girlfriends), therefore out of the company apartment, so “generously” offers to stay with Eric so he’s not so alone. Zara (Meera Rohit Kumbhani) escorts Eric home after buying art, and since she walked out on her fiance and apartment, finds Caryn a willing landlord. Caryn almosts decides to marry a boring guy to not be alone, but sparks do fly between her and Stosh. It was a funny episode.

Weird Loners 1.2 “Weird Dance” review: I gotta say it was a bit less funny this week. It had its moments. Zara felt bad for Eric who wanted a last goodbye from his deceased father, so she pretended to channel his spirit, getting trapped into spending the day with him. Caryn, has to figure out a way to tell her Nana that she is now NOT engaged, which will break her little old heart. Stosh hovers between selfishness and selflessness in this episode, but ultimately you have to decide which one he is and what is his motive. It was a decent 22 minutes of my life. The verdict is still out on whether this show is a keeper or not. I will stick it out a few more episodes to determine whether it’s worth the long haul.

What do you think so far?

WEIRD LONERS
(Tuesdays, 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT)
In a world full of happy couples, there are those who just can’t seem to figure it out”¦

WEIRD LONERS is a new single-camera comedy about four relationship-challenged mid-30-somethings who are unexpectedly thrust into one another’s lives, forming unlikely bonds in a Queens, NY, townhouse.

Starring Becki Newton (“Ugly Betty”), Zachary Knighton (“Happy Endings”), Nate Torrence (“Hello Ladies”) and newcomer Meera Rohit Kumbhani, the series explores the lives of these underdogs who, each for his/her own distinct reasons, are solo singles when most of their peers are well along the path of marriage and family.

As the members of this off-kilter quartet get to know each other, they’ll face an endless array of riotous – and likely uncomfortable – circumstances, ranging from a reunion with an estranged pre-teen son, to confusion about same-sex dating, to scheming the art world to make a quick buck.

WEIRD LONERS is a show for all those who have at some point felt scared, lost, lonely and overwhelmed in the world of love and relationships. Namely, everyone.

WEIRD LONERS is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series is created and written by Michael J. Weithorn (“The King of Queens”). Weithorn, Jake Kasdan (NEW GIRL, “Bad Teacher”) and Melvin Mar (NEW GIRL) serve as executive producers. Kasdan directed the pilot. “Like” WEIRD LONERS on Facebook facebook.com/WeirdLoners.
