First Look: Johnny Depp In ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’

After production was halted due to an on-set injury, cameras are rolling once again for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The fifth installment in Disney’s long-running film franchise sees Johnny Depp returning to reprise his fan-favorite rum-craving Captain Jack Sparrow for an all new adventure. It will be a while before we will actually be able to see anything since the film opens July 2017, but we are getting our first look at it thanks to producer Jerry Bruckheimer. The photo, which was posted on Bruckheimer’s Twitter account, sees Jack Sparrow in an all too familiar situation.
Depp will be joined by Pirates of Caribbean alum Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, and Stephen Graham, as well as newcomers Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Golshifteh Farahani.
Dead Men Tell No Tales will be directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Kon Tiki), who will be using a script written by Jeff Nathanson (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Catch Me If You Can).
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
