Rumor: Felicity Jones’ ‘Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One’ Character Is…

Felicity Jones

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is the first of the new Star Wars spinoff films. The film is centered on a group of rebels who must infiltrate the Empire in order to steal the plans to the Death Star. Though we may know a little bit about the film, we don’t know the much about the cast or who they are playing. Riz Ahmed, Sam Claflin, and Forest Whitaker have been reportedly cast as Rebel fighters, with Diego Luna cast in an unknown role. Ben Mendelsohn has yet to be confirmed, but reports say that he is attached to play the film’s villain.

That just leaves Felicity Jones, who was the first to be confirmed for the film. That is pretty significant as not only will she be playing the female lead, but it is being reported that her character will be the leader of the Rebel squad that steals the plans. Now there is a new rumor saying her character is even more significant as she may have a connection to a major character of the Star Wars universe. More on the story below.

Umberto Gonzales aka El Mayimbe stopped by Meet The Movie Press to drop the scoop that Jones would be playing the daughter of Boba Fett. However, he made sure to say that this was just a rumor. But with the current trend to build a shared universe, it makes some sense that there is some sort of connection that links the Anthology films together.

So how would the daughter of Boba Fett fit into the Star Wars universe exactly. Well we know that these Anthology films will “tell stories that may not involve Jedi.” So far Rogue One and the untitled young Han Solo film fit into that mold. The initial Rogue One report said that it was the Rebel Alliance who had hired a group of bounty hunters to steal the plans to the Death Star, but what if there was a slight twist to that, and they hired a bounty hunter to lead a rebel squad to get those plans, and who better to hire than the daughter of the greatest (at least to some) bounty hunter in the galaxy. There is also the idea that Jones’ character may be hiding the fact that she is the daughter of Boba Fett to the Rebel Alliance, and may steal the plans for herself. But all of this is just pure speculation.

Check out the video below of El Maybime dropping the latest Star Wars scooop.

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One opens in theaters on December 16, 2016.

A rogue band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans and bring new hope to the galaxy in the Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One.

  1. Please don’t do it! You’ve got a good premise for a movie. You’ve got a decent title. You’ve got a decent cast.

Don’t screw it up with this idea.
