When it comes to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, any new footage revealed deserves an exclamation point in the headline, because even though we’re now less than six weeks away from the film’s theatrical release, we still don’t know what this highly anticipated sequel is about!
With the recently released trailer and the Japanese trailer, as well as the previous two teasers, we might have about five minutes’ worth of film already. So, get ready now to watch the first TV Spot for the movie, which, yes, has new footage!!!
Check out the first TV Spot here below.
While early marketing seemed to focus on John Boyega’s Finn, the last trailers and this new TV spot are turning the spotlight on Daisy Ridley’s Rey. We still don’t know who Rey is, but it’s obvious she has to be someone special, especially since in the voiceovers she’s asked who she is, and she responds “I’m no one.” No one? I don’t think so.
By the way, most studios release an official synopsis for each of their films. Here’s what Disney/Lucasfilm sends out with their press releases:
Lucasfilm and visionary director J.J. Abrams join forces to take you back again to a galaxy far, far away as Star Wars returns to the big screen with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
I know, SPOILERS!!! Why bother even going to see the film now?
Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Max von Sydow, and returning alum Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, and Kenny Baker. Directed by J.J. Abrams, who co-wrote the script with Lawrence Kasdan, the seventh installment of the Star Wars saga opens in theaters on December 16 in France, in the U.K. on December 17, and in the U.S. on December 18, 2015.
