Honest Trailer Die Hard

Whenever a conversation arises about “best movie ever,” there is usually a massive debate. You get your Citizen Kane fans, your Godfather followers, and some usual suspects who prefer Casablanca. But when the discussion narrows to “best action movie ever” there is usually little debate. The overwhelming favorite is… Die Hard. But more than that, it may also be the best Christmas movie of all time! And it’s within this context that my personal choice for Greatest Action Movie Ever, gets the final Honest Trailer of 2015.

Check out the Honest Trailer below.

“Now I have a machine gun. Ho Ho Ho”… take that It’s a Wonderful Life! Narrator Jon Bailey spends almost 5-minutes not finding a single thing wrong with Die Hard… because seriously, are YOU gonna f*ck with John McClane?! Everything is “friggin perfect” from the action, to the stunts, the comedy, the one-liners, the supporting cast… everything, you get it. Bailey and the gang at Screen Junkies are as good at montages as Rocky movies. The first great one shows all the ’80s action heroes in the ripped and roided glory, from Sly, to Arnold, to Dolph Lundgren’s He-Man. Except no one kicks more ass than “that guy from Moonlighting who looks like your dad.”

Holy Crap! Alan Rickman’s turn as Hans Gruber was his first film role! In his first movie, Rickman basically created the archetype terrorist bad guy that action movies have been trying to replicate since 1988. And hey, there’s Reginald Vel Johnson playing the cop, right after playing the cop in Ghostbusters but also right before playing a cop on Family Matters… typecast much? Who is he, Ice Cube?

The second and best montage that Honest Trailers have ever done in my humble opinion comes when showing all the movies that have tried ever so hard to be Die Hard… I won’t spoil them all, but just to name a few – Die Hard: On a Bus (Speed), Die Hard: On a Mountain (Cliffhanger) and Die Hard: In the White House (Olympus Has Fallen)… which I will never understand why that wasn’t Die Hard 5… I mean who better to save the President and America… Goddamn you to hell A Good Day to Die Hard!!!

Starring… Bruce Willis when he still cared, Hans Gruber (to the tune of MacGruber), Carl of Duty, and This Man Has No Dick… new title: Die Hard: In a Building.

Screen Junkies have over 5-million subscribers on YouTube and release a new Honest Trailer every Tuesday.

Happy New Year, and Yippie Ki-Yay Mother Trucker!
