20th Century Fox has released a new red band trailer for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates starring Zack Efron and Adam Levine as two party going brothers who are forced to clean up their act and find some “respectable ladies” as their dates for their sister’s wedding. Desperate the two go on a talk show to announce they are looking for dates, which catches the attention of two raunchy ladies (Aubrey Plaza and Anna Kendrick) who will pose as those “respectable ladies.”
Check out the full trailer below. Remember since this is a red band trailer, there are plenty of choice words and suggestive material, so either put on those ear buds or just wait until after work to check it out.
While the boys are trying to clean up their act, they realize the ladies they are bringing as their dates are much more than they can handle. They are even worse than they are in terms of respectability.
This isn’t the first time that Plaza and Efron have appeared in a raunchy comedy together. The two starred in Dirty Grandpa earlier this year. Though that film wasn’t successful, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates seems to be more of a sure thing, especially since it has Kendrick and Levine, who have starred in both Pitch Perfect films.
A trailer for the film dropped earlier this year as well. Though some new footage has been added, the film looks to be one of those great R-rated summer comedies. Of course, depending on its success, the studio could give us more of the foursome in sequels. If that happens, let’s just hope they don’t fall into the traps of repetitiveness like the Hangover trilogy did.
Stephen Root also stars.
Directed by Jake Szymanski, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates hits theaters on July 18, 2016.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Hard-partying brothers Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) place an online ad to find the perfect dates (Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza) for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway, the boys instead find themselves outsmarted and out-partied by the uncontrollable duo.
