WB and Village Roadshow Pictures released the first trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, their upcoming film starring Charlie Hunnam as the title character, today in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.
The trailer can be watched here below!
We’re currently at the WB panel in Hall H, which is still in progress, so keep it at Geeks Of Doom as we bring you news all day from SDCC.
Here’s some highlights…
Only star Charlie Hunnam appeared at the WB panel today, and I’m getting word now from my editor that his presence is more than enough.
When asked about the story, the actor said that because it’s been told so many times, you need to have something unique. And there is a modern feel to this period piece. So when we first met Arthur, he isn’t a pimp but lives in a brothel. The genesis of this character is that he grew up in object poverty so they made him a street kid who is doing well for himself. So when destiny comes, he refuses it at first but it is something he cannot deny.
Hunamn tried not to think about being the legendary character too much and took guidance from director Guy Ritchie.
The film also stars Jude Law as Vortigern, Djimon Hounsou as Bedivere, Eric Bana as Uther Pendragon, and Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey as Guinevere, and is scheduled for release in theaters on March 24, 2017.
