Warner Bros. revealed the first trailer for the Patty Jenkins-directed Wonder Woman today in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.
Watch the trailer here below!
We’re currently at the WB panel in Hall H, which is still in progress, so keep it at Geeks Of Doom as we bring you news all day from SDCC.
Here’s some highlights from the panel:
Jenkins shared her love of the character, which turns 75 this year, from whittling down major fun ideas into a more concentrated and focused story and that’s where she was at this point isn’t the editing process.
Star Connie Nielsen then walked on stage as the Queen of the Amazons. Jenkins then introduced Chris Pine. The director said she never wanted to cast a sidekick, but rather someone who is strong and cool as hell, but never would emasculate Wonder Woman, and that’s Steve Trevor. Finally, headline star Gal Gadot took the stage, with Jenkins praising her, calling her a real Wonder Woman for all the effort she put into her performance. Gadot said they shot for six days a week for six months.
Clearly overcome emotion Gadot said she felt a great deal of responsibility to bring a character we can relate to, one with onor and kindness of a human and strength of a goddess.
Jenkins said the world needs love and forgiveness in a big way. And Wonder Woman’s message says it will be about forgiving and moving forward because you are a loving character.
Pine said his character Steve Trevor lives in the heart of darkness of men, and introduced a jaded Wonder Woman to a world of men, and that she has the potential to change the world of men.
Jenkins could not reveal if Wonder Woman would fly, but then confirmed that because it was a period piece, there would be no invisible jet.
