Chances are you saw some people dressed as Eleven for Halloween. The character is probably best recognized for wearing a light pink dress and wearing a jean jacket while holding a box of Eggo waffles, and having a bloody nose from using all her telekinetic powers. If you still don’t know who that is, then I suggest you check out Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Fans of the show will be excited to learn that Millie Bobby Brown, the actress who plays Eleven, will be returning to reprise her role in season two of the original series. Season one spoilers will follow in the full story below.
TVLine was the first to break the news of Brown’s return, although it is not clear what kind of role she will have. When we last saw Eleven, she was protecting Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and engaged in a stare down with the Demogorgon. She then disintegrated the vicious monster by sacrificing her own life. Upon first look it may have seemed like her character was gone, but when you’re dealing with a world as strange as the Upside Down, who knows if she or the Demogorgon are really gone.
Creators and showrunners Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer have confirmed that season two will take place a little over a year after the events of season one, with Will (Noah Schnapp) now adjusting to life back in the real world after spending days in the Upside Down. But based on a cliffhanger we saw at the end, we know that Will did not come back home alone.
Netflix has recently started up the marketing campaign for the season two by releasing faux news reports of the fan-favorite Barb’s disappearance. Of course, most who have already watched the series know that Barb is, in fact, dead. But a lot of them would like to see her get justice, in some shape or form. The cast has also been teasing us with photos of themselves in costume or on set on social media. Of course, none of their posts contain any spoilers, but it does leave us wanting more.
Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) will also return.
Production on season two of Stranger Things is taking place right now. Netflix plans to release it sometime next year. We’ll keep you posted on when they announce a release date.
And here’s the faux news report about Barb’s disappearance just in case you missed it.
