westworld 110 the bicameral mind

On this week’s podcast, Andrew, Dwayne, and Tosin take an epic, deep-dive analysis of Westworld‘s stunning 90-minute Episode 1.10 “The Bicameral Mind,” the Season 1 finale.

Ford unveils his vision for a bold new narrative. Enlightened by Bernard and The Man in Black, Dolores comes to terms with who she is. Maeve sets her liberation plan in motion as Westworld faces a major upheaval.

Violent Delights is a weekly podcast where hosts Andrew Sorcini, Dwayne DeFreitas, and Tosin Onafowokan discuss HBO’s Westworld, and the larger questions this ambitious show hopes to tackle.

  1. I was behind one podcast and caught up before listening to the final one for season 1 of Westworld. I do not believe that Ford is dead and the only reason I am proposing this is due to Podcast for episode nine stirring my memory of the host Ford was making in the off the books work site below “little Ford’s house” in Westworld where Theresa Cullen is murdered by Bernard Lowe. My theory is that Ford needed to make a public show that he was killed and also help Dolores along with the memories of Wyatt still stirring inside her.

My other though is that he may have let his human self be killed off after creating a host replica of himself that can continue on with Superuser privileges. He has had plenty of time to try to recreate his consciousnesses as a host mind, which could have probably been put in motion after Arnold’s death.

I had to make a post as I was really hoping to hear thought on the unknown host in podcast 10 maybe it will make it into the wrap up episode.

    Notable Ephemera:

I also wanted to throw in an optimistic view of what happens when robots go out into the world where they don’t wipe out humanity and push human civilization forward. It is the 2 short stories (“Evidence” (1946) and “The Evitable Conflict” (1950)) from I, Robot by Isaac Asimov.

  3. Great catches. Thanks for writing.
We may need to bring these up during a cap episode before the next season starts.
