Last time on Prison Break, T-Bag (Robert Knepper) finally got released from prison, and a picture of a very much alive Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) was waiting upon his release. He went to Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) who brought it to Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), and attempts were made on both of their lives. Lincoln went to C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) to get him to Yemen to find out the truth for sure. They were set up, but finally saw Michael who seemed not to know them. T-Bag received a free robotic hand from a mysterious benefactor named “Nobody.”
Spoilers below.
Prison Break: Sequel Episode 2 “Kaniel Outis” review: It opens to a news report about the civil war in Yemen, and the radical leader currently being held in Ogygia. Right now he is in solitary with his most dangerous followers. They will be released into gen pop soon, and no one will be safe.
Michael is in his cell timing another escape with his cell mates. Michael fakes a fever to get to the infirmary. He gets whipped, but another guard shows him some kindness. Michael brings back some drugs for a junkie cellmate in exchange for use of his phone to “order a pizza.”
C-Note tells Lincoln about the history of “Kaniel Outis,” and there’s a kid sneaking around outside. Lincoln gives chase to no avail, but the kid left an origami message to find The “Sheikh of Light.”
Sheba (Inbar Lavi) is trying to convince her father to run. He wants to “die with his face to the enemy.” Lincoln comes by for help with the message and offers a lot of money, escape money, for help. She figures out the message and arranges a meeting. They have to go to the suburbs – the “front line of the war.” They are stopped by an ISIL soldier, but the soldier is called away before he can make good on his horrid insinuations.
Sara drops Mikey off at school and watches the video of Michael that Lincoln sent. She goes to talk to someone about an American citizen being held in the Middle East. She is brought to the director – Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein). Kellerman tells her (and shows her) that Michael is a murderer. She says he was probably set up. She goes to talk about it with Jacob. He explains game theory, which sorta explains Michael.
They find the sheikh but he won’t leave without his daughter. They all get pinned by ISIL. But Lincoln saves the day by getting the daughter and 2 other girls out in a harrowing chase to the government border, and impresses Sheba in the process. The sheikh explains his part in the breakout. “This city may not have 24 hours.”
Sara goes to pick up Mike from school and he is missing. She finds him quickly, but he’s holding an origami flower given to him from a “pizza man” that says, “Hide everyone. A storm is coming.”
The signal is given. Escape is in 24 hours. The ISIL leader is released and he and Michael hug. In a show filled with shocking reveals, this was unexpected. Does this mean that the ISIL leader really is good? Or is it just that Michael Scofield will partner with anyone to protect his family (i.e. T-Bag).
Another solid episode. I love when people mistake Lincoln Burrows for being on the side of evil, and then he shows what a hero he really is. I know that they cannot keep a show where everyone is on the run on for more than this season. It’s probably why the original only lasted four, but I could watch this show forever.
There was no T-Bag or Sucre, but don’t you worry. They will be in play very soon.
Prison Break airs Tuesday nights at 9:00pm ET on FOX.
