Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Star Lord Hoodie 4

Are you a Guardians of the Galaxy super fan? Do you see yourself as the perfect mix of clever, funny, and sassy like Star Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt)? Have you, like many fans, been wondering what in the galaxy his new shirt from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 means?

Well, not only can you channel Star Lord himself with a new piece of geek apparel, but you can be “in the know” regarding this new curious wardrobe selection.

Enter the Angel Jackets Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Star Lord Pullover Hoodie (just catching my breath for a sec…that was a mouthful). It’s the same gray color that the Lord wears as part of his new getup, it’s relatively fitted yet still loose enough to be comfy, and it looks cool. You can even get it in a long-sleeve v-neck tee shirt to look even more like our favorite world-saving, ’80s music loving hero. I know what you’re thinking: get to the point. What does it mean?!

Okay, so here’s what we know. While some people have done a lot of research on its meaning including some insanely in-depth language decoding (does “gears shift” mean anything to anyone?), Chris Pratt talked about his take on the shirt’s meaning while being interviewed back in March:

“It’s a real language apparently. They’ve created a real alphabet, but it’s from – I think, I might be making this up – I think it’s from a candy wrapper from the first movie. This is like a space brand of some kind so it’s like on my shirt the way anyone would be wearing an ironic Reese’s Pieces shirt or something like that.”

Take it or leave it, this Easter Egg fits perfectly into the son of Ego’s wisecracking persona and would certainly have been a fun way for Marvel to give a nod to Vol. 1. Now, if that’s not a perfect conversation starter, I don’t know what is. It’s also a great way to feel quite smug with the ultra-secret geek knowledge that you now possess.

Onto to the details of the hoodie. I actually really love it because it’s warm but relatively light, so it’s a smart choice for spring or fall. I will say that the sizes appear to be unisex and they run small. For reference – normally – if I want a hoodie to be fitted, I would choose a women’s small, while if I wanted some extra room, I would pick a unisex/men’s small. I would categorize this as a “women’s small” fit. The sleeves are a bit short; if you are used to having the cuffs go to about mid-hand, you may be disappointed as these only go to about the end of the wrist (see pictures below). That said, going up a size (or even two based on the fit you prefer) should do the trick. I’m happy with the size small, plus there’s always the option of rolling the sleeves.

Between comfort, unique style appeal, and price (currently on sale!), this hoodie is a fun addition to any fan’s wardrobe. You can get the Angel Jackets GOTG Vol. 2 Star Lord Pullover Hoodie (phew…that name again) for yourself here.
