Doctor Who TARDISblend Banner

On Doctor Who, attempting to help bring about the redemption of Missy (Michelle Gomez), the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) recruits his friends Bill (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas) to help with the reconciliation process. But the test becomes fatal very quick, and will place the Doctor against the faces of enemies long since past.

During TARDISblend 109, we enter the final chapter of Series 10 with an optimistic outlook, examine the return of John Simm, and critically analyze the return of the Classic Mondas Cybermen.

All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!

Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The Heavy Metal Historian Podcast) and geek journalist Tom Cheredar, TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Peter Capaldi concludes his journey as the Doctor!

  1. Hey guys! Man, sorry, been away while… this episode was pure mind blowing fun. I admit I realized that was The Master way too late, but what an awesome reveal! We def realized much earlier during the epi that this was the origins of the Mondasian Cybermen (and that it was a frakking companion?!) and that was enough. Then to get the Master reveal like that, on top? I was a giddy fool. I’ll miss Capaldi wholeheartedly, but I cannot wait to see where they take this next week for the finale. 10 out 10 for me.

  2. Hi guys, Well, What a wonderful season finally.
Taking on a Cybermen army was going to be no easy task, but I felt the scale of the attack was executed perfectly. Bill was amazing in this episode and her teary final reveal was, for all a little corny was somehow fitting. But I really had totally given up on Bill meeting her girlfriend again. Nicely played out on Saturday family viewing teatime. Following up on our earlier discussion about changing morals.
    Nice one Steven.
So, the Simms Master is still on the loose. I like that idea. For all Michelle Gomez added some brilliant welcome comic relief to the past couple of seasons, it would be nice to see more of Simms Master slip over into season 11.
    So, I give it another 5 out a 5.
I’ve really enjoyed this seasons. Hope you did too?
I know that Peter hasn’t been to everyone’s taste, but he is a wonderfully competent actor who has brought gravitas to the proceedings. A real welcome after the more upbeat manner of the previous two Doctors. He’s done a great job and one to be proud of. And speaking of previous Doctors. The rumours were true. This Christmas is going to be so exciting, seeing these two incarnations interact. I can’t wait!!!
Oh my God, I’m wishing my life away….
Well guys, time to switch on the Summer and put all things “Who” on the back burner for a few months. So I hope you have a great one and I’ll next hear from you at the end of the year. Stay Happy and keep loving the Doctor……. TT

  3. The Doctor Falls – All the actors were on great form, but the story suffered from trying too do too much. The Cybermen weren’t much of a threat, just dying too easily. Heather reappearing and saving the day was a total fudge, I’d rather have seen CyberBill step up and save the Doctor herself somehow.
The Masters were brilliant, but two points – if the laser screwdriver could kill a Time Lord outright, why has he never used it on the Doctor (such as down on the rooftop this episode)? And the best plan the Master could come up with after escaping the Cybermen was to sit around on a farm for two weeks talking to himself then “Right-o, off to my Tardis”? To paraphrase the Tenth Doctor, he could have done so much more.
Overall, 3/5, mainly for the actors. I’ve really enjoyed this series, so this was a bit of a let-down as an ending.
