| E3 2017: Trailer For ‘Ori and The Blind Forest’ Sequel ‘Will Of The Wisps’
Catching up on some more news out of E3 2017, a sequel to the hit indie side-scroller Ori and the Blind Forest was announced during Microsoft’s media briefing earlier this week. The sequel, which is titled Ori and the Will of the Wisps, was announced with a trailer. You can watch this trailer below, but be warned—and I’ll be blunt—you’re in for some deeply emotional shit. So if you’re in more of a “sunshine and rainbows and smiles” mood and would rather not be in a “sobbing in the fetal position” mood, you may want to save it for later. OK—maybe that’s a bit hyperbolic. Maybe.

The X-Men saga films are never short on star power. From Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart to Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Jennifer Lawrence, these films have found a way to rope in some very high-profile names into their superhero universe. And now you can add Jessica Chastain to that list. Reports are saying that the Academy Award-nominated actress is currently in negotiations to play the lead villain in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. For the past 10 years or so, Marvel Studios has been king of the superhero movie genre. So not only has other competing studios caught on to their success, but they have been trying to mimic it. Though there have been attempts to make their own shared universe work, some studios realized that it takes a little more effort to build one as massive as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Marvel doesn’t really get all the credit. Despite their mounting success, they have yet to release a female-led superhero film. Something that Warner Brothers’ Wonder Woman not only has accomplished but shattered the glass ceiling. Others had to make deals. Like Sony finally sharing Spider-Man. And Marvel finds themselves on the other side looking in as Fox has proven that R-rated superhero films could work. | ‘Little Nightmares’ TV Series In The Works From ‘Avengers’ & ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Directors
There’s still plenty of goodies from E3 2017 to share, but while we take a break from video games for a moment, it’s an excellent time to share a little bit of news related to…well, video games! It’s been announced that the recent indie hit Little Nightmares is now being turned into a television series. The series is being developed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo along with DJ2 Entertainment, who is currently working on multiple video game adaptations such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Life is Strange. But perhaps most exciting about the potential TV series? Henry Selick, the director behind stop-motion favorites such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, is attached to direct the pilot episode and maybe more episodes after that.
