It’s being reported that Warner Brothers is developing a remake of the sci-fi horror Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
The studio has hired David Leslie Johnson to pen the screenplay for the remake. Johnson’s credits include Orphan, Red Riding Hood, Wrath of the Titans, The Conjuring 2, and episodes of The Walking Dead.
In addition to this new gig, the screenwriter is also working on The Conjuring 3, as we found out recently, and he’s been attached to new Dungeons & Dragons and Nightmare on Elm Street movies as well.
This of course isn’t the first remake of the classic title. It began as the 1955 novel The Body Snatchers, and was first adapted into a movie in 1956’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The first remake came in the 1978 movie of the same name, which starred Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright, Jeff Goldblum, and Leonard Nimoy. Then came Body Snatchers in 1993, and finally, The Invasion in 2007 starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.
It’s not yet known how faithful this latest remake will be to the source material, nor is it known who might star. What is known is that Johnson is writing, and John Davis is producing. Davis’s many credits include Predator and Predator 2, Chronicle, and I, Robot.

The 1978 movie is the best in the lot. No remake needed.
