At one point in time, a superhero will get a costume change. We are seeing a lot of this happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, usually with Iron Man and Captain America. But towards the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, we saw that Peter Parker would be given a new suit if he took the offer to become an Avenger. Of course, he declined, but that doesn’t mean it was the last time we would see the suit.
That’s because it appeared once again during the Avengers: Infinity War trailer that was shown this summer at both D23 Expo and the San Diego Comic-Con. But Spidey fans barely got any time to familiarize themselves with it as it was shown for only a brief moment. Now, they will be able to see the full suit. So, if you want to take a look, check out the full image here below.
The image below comes to us from The Art of VFX, and shows that the suit takes some inspiration from the Iron Spider suit that Parker used during the Civic War story arc. As you can see, there are quite a few changes to separate itself from the comics. For instance, the design and patterns the red and blue around the arms are almost the same as the traditional suit. But the spider emblem is much larger and spreads across the body. The emblem has some gold trim as well, which seems to make the suit a less ostentatious.

So it is somewhat different to the Iron Spider, which had an extra set of arms plus was red and gold that could be deployed from a storage unit on his back. The suit also came with some additional weaponry, which includes stingers, a glider, enhanced lenses, and a mask filter.

While we did see a little bit of Spider-Man in action, none of the suit’s functions were used. But since the suit clearly takes inspiration from Iron Spider, one has to think that the Russo brothers (Infinity War‘s directors) would at least show off some of the suit’s capabilities. Guess we will have to wait and see if that happens when Spider-Man swings into action in Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018.
