Back in November, BBC America announced their plans for a second season of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, their television adaptation of Douglas Adams’ books.

Now, the network has released the first trailer for Season 2. Watch it here below!

The new season will see the return of Samuel Barnett as the title detective and Elijah Wood as his reluctant assistant Todd (though likely less reluctant now). Also returning are Hannah Marks as Todd’s sister Amanda and Jade Eshete as Farah Black.

This time around, Dirk and the gang will have a new mystery to solve. There will also be some guest stars in the 10-episode second season, which, like the first one, was written by Max Landis: John Hannah, Amanda Walsh, and Aleks Paunovic, and reunites Tucker and Dale vs Evil co-stars Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine.

Here’s some official details on the new characters:

Tyler Labine will play Sherlock Hobbs, an under-stimulated, but overly enthusiastic small town sheriff who is eager to help Dirk and crew solve a new mystery. Credits: Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Deadbeat

John Hannah will play THE MAGE; an evil wizard who is a sociopathic nihilist intent on destroying two worlds. Credits: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marley’s Ghosts, Atlantis, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Alan Tudyk will play MR. PRIEST; a ruthless, dangerous, and violent bounty hunter working for Blackwing. Credits: Rogue One, Firefly, Serenity, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Maze Runner, Death at a Funeral, DodgeBall

Aleks Paunovic will play WYGAR OAK; a dominating enforcer for the Dengdamor royal family. Credits: War for the Planet of the Apes (played Winter), Van Helsing, Continuum, Supernatural

Amanda Walsh will play SUZIE BORETON; an unassuming, insecure, depressed soccer mom who slowly transforms herself into a sleek evil sorceress, as beautiful and as seductive as she is vicious and deranged. Season 2 of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, which is produced by AMC Studios, premieres on October 14, 2017 at 9/8c on BBC America and will stream globally on Netflix in countries outside the U.S.
