| First Trailer, Release Date For Cyberpunk Series ‘Altered Carbon’ Revealed
Netflix has released a brief teaser trailer for their upcoming cyberpunk sci-fi series Altered Carbon. The teaser also reveals a release date for the first season of the series. The TV series is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Richard Morgan. It’s set well in the future, when the technology exists to transfer the human mind into a new body, effectively making it possible to live forever. | Disney Deal To Acquire Fox Could Be Done As Soon As Next Week |

It has been a few weeks since we first heard about the possibility of The Walt Disney Company acquiring 20th Century Fox. Though details were slim, if Disney were to buy Fox it would mean that the studio would acquire their entertainment division, which includes film properties, TV properties, Nat Geo, and more. At first, it appeared that there was a fallout between the two when the then-rumored deal leaked. However, talks started again, and much of the deal remained the same with Fox continuing to retain their sports and news media outlets. Now the deal that looked like it would take months to complete could be done as soon as next week. More on the story below.

| Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Announces Nominations For The Best Of 2017 |

It’s the end of the year, and that means various critics associations will be unveiling their nominations for their favorite films, performances, scores, etc of the year. The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society is among the first to do so. Guillermo del Toro‘s The Shape Of Water has nabbed the most nominations with 11, followed by the nine earned by Greta Gerwig‘s highly acclaimed coming-of-age film Lady Bird. Christopher Nolan‘s Dunkirk and Jordan Peele‘s Get Out were also among the most notable titles to be nominated this year.
