Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the first trailer for Slender Man, a movie based on the fictional character of the same name known for being extremely tall and thin, having a featureless face, and wearing a suit. The character was created by Victor Surge in a creepypasta story, and has been used in various ways, including in his own video games.

DESCRIPTION:
In a small town in Massachusetts, four high school girls perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of SLENDER MAN. When one of the girls goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, HIS latest victim.
Starring in the movie is Joey King (The Conjuring, Fargo), Julia Goldani Telles (The Affair, Most Likely to Murder), Jaz Sinclair (Paper Towns, Easy), and Annalise Basso (Ouija: Origins of Evil, Captain Fantastic). Javier Botet, who’s made a career of playing tall and thin characters in horror movies including Niña Medeiros in the [REC] series, the title character in Mama, the ghosts of Crimson Peak, and the Crooked Man in The Conjuring 2 among others, will play the Slender Man.
The movie is directed by Sylvain White, who has previously helmed Stomp the Yard, The Losers, and episodes of numerous television series, including Person of Interest, The Following, Sleepy Hollow, Hawaii Five-0, and The Americans. The screenplay was penned by David Birke, who has written the scripts for movies like 13 Sins and Elle.
Slender Man is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May 18th.
