In the world put forth by Dynamite Entertainment, fetish model and actress Bettie Page led a double life working for the government in an underground spy capacity. Indeed, she bore witness to several earth threatening travesties and was paramount in the success of many of the cases.

The story shared here in Bettie Page: Unbound #1 is but one of many times she risked life and limb for the good of humankind. There is, however, something that makes this particular tale more appealing than some of the others. Read on if you must know more!

The dangers have been myriad but Bettie Page has endured them all with fearlessness and valor. All but one, that is. Facing off against Lovecraftian Elder Gods often referred to as The Great Old Ones has given Bettie an enormous amount of nightmares. Maybe if it was just Yog-Sothoth she might be less terrified but when you add in the fact that Nyarlathotep appears to try and wrench a mystical key from her grasp, everything pretty much goes into the toilet at that time. It is when she jumps into a portal to escape that everything gets a bit crazier for her but far more interesting for the reader!

Landing quite harshly in a foreign land, it is obvious immediately that Bettie has been sent somewhere unusual. Earlier consultations with the Loch Ness Monster had advised her to seek out all five of the keys in order to fend off the coming chaos. So with that in mind, she began exploring this harsh new world called Hyperborea. It was not long before she finds herself facing two men intent on adding her to their chain of slave girls bound for a harem. Armed with a sword and dressed as Red Sonja upon her arrival, she found that she was more than capable of not only defending herself but also of vanquishing her foes!

After freeing the enslaved girls, she is then led to the local castle by two of the women she released. The twins, known as Gayle and Symone, spoke of another key akin to the one she possessed already. Infiltration, battles, and even more mystery abounds as Bettie finds herself transported via a portal yet again but this time she is not in a barbaric world but one drenched in blood! She still searches for the keys to save her world but will she ever be able to get back there? Only time will tell!

I freaking loved this comic! Not just as a longtime Bettie Page fan but also as a fan of all things H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, and a certain dark-haired Drakulonian. The homage to Gail Simone touched my heart, what a wonderful thing for this team to do.

This will crossover or mashup a lot of characters before it is done, I believe. Do not miss out on the first book here, you will regret it if you fail to grab it. It gets two tentacles up from me!

When you step through an inter-dimensional gate the results are unpredictable: sometimes you find yourself in a bikini made of coins with a sword in your hand! Reality is shattering, the gate has been opened for an invasion from the Great Old Ones…and only model spy BETTIE PAGE can save the world in this epic four-part miniseries from David Avallone (ELVIRA: MISTRESS OF THE DARK) and Julius Ohta. The Crisis on Infinite Betties begins in BETTIE PAGE: UNBOUND #1!
