Universal Pictures has released the latest red band trailer for the Seth Rogen produced raunchy comedy Good Boys. The film centers on three adolescent boys Max (Jacob Tremblay), Thor (Brady Noon), and Lucas (Keith L. Williams) who will do anything to make it to a sixth grade party. Without knowing what will happen at this party, the boys are under the impression that there will be lots of kissing, so they take Max’s dad’s drone, which they are forbidden to touch, to spy on their next door neighbors who they believe is a nymphomaniac.
Unfortunately, this is the first step into the absolutely crazy day that they will have which includes trying to run across a highway, sex swings, porn, exchanging drugs at a public playground, and more. Check out the NSFW red band trailer for Good Boys below.
I actually enjoyed the opening gag more than I did the entire trailer. In it, Rogen says that he is not allowed to show the three kids the red band trailer because of their age. Of course, all three are outraged saying that they have already seen his film, much to the shock of Rogen. Williams knocks Rogen for making Superbad before “black people existed.” To which Rogen replies that he’s from Canada. And Noon blames Rogen for making Sausage Party an animated film.
From there, it’s the typical how worse can a day get kind of film, except with kids and no filter. The tags in the film from various outlets who have seen it suggest it will be very funny, so I recommend that you avoid this trailer in order to go into the comedy fresh and without knowing any of the jokes.
Will Forte, Molly Gordon, Midori Francis, and Lil Rel Howery also star in the film.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Just how bad can one day get? The creative minds behind Superbad, Pineapple Express and Sausage Party take on sixth grade hard in the outrageous comedy, Good Boys.
After being invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max (Room’s Jacob Tremblay) is panicking because he doesn’t know how to kiss. Eager for some pointers, Max and his best friends Thor (Brady Noon, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and Lucas (Keith L. Williams, Fox’s The Last Man On Earth) decide to use Max’s dad’s drone – which Max is forbidden to touch – to spy (they think) on a teenage couple making out next door.
But when things go ridiculously wrong, the drone is destroyed. Desperate to replace it before Max’s dad (Will Forte, The Last Man on Earth) gets home, the boys skip school and set off on an odyssey of epically bad decisions involving some accidentally stolen drugs, frat-house paintball, and running from both the cops and terrifying teenage girls (Life of the Party’s Molly Gordon and Ocean’s Eight’s Midori Francis).
Good Boys opens in theaters on August 16, 2019.
