Edgar Allan Poe is one of the most famous and influential writers of our time, thanks to his numerous tales of the macabre. But before the orphaned Poe became a household name and pop culture icon, he spent his early life as a ward of the Allans, an affluent Virginian family. While his foster father, John Allan, a successful tobacco merchant, wanted him to follow in his footsteps in business, young Edgar longed instead to be a writer. The Raven’s Tale takes these facts about Poe’s life and weaves a story about the author at 17 as he struggles with his disapproving “Pa,” his intense first year in college, and his inner conflict with his muse.

Pet Sematary cat Church 2019

So far, 2019 has already been a good year for cats in film. Last month’s Captain Marvel, the latest release for Marvel Studios, had an orange tabby named Goose play a major role in the superhero film, and in this weekend’s Pet Sematary, a Maine Coon cat named Church was front and center.

In the new Pet Sematary, a Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke) moves his family, including their beloved cat, Winston “Church” Churchill, from Boston to a small town in Maine so they can live a quieter life. Unbeknownst to them, on their property is a pet cemetery, as well as a mysterious ancient burial ground. After the sweet and friendly Church is run over by a truck, Louis, under the guidance of his friendly elderly neighbor Jud (John Lithgow), buries the cat in the burial ground, a place where the dead rise. But when Church returns, he’s not the lovable lap cat he used to be, much to the family’s horror.

SNL Promo Game Of Thrones Spinoffs

We’re just a week away from the premiere of the highly anticipated eighth and final season of the HBO series Game Of Thrones. Not surprisingly, the network’s marketing machine is out in full force, especially in New York City, where the red carpet Season 8 premiere was held and also where a replica of the Iron Throne sat on display for a few days at Rockefeller Center.

On Saturday, in Studio 8H of 30 Rock, Kit Harington, one of the main stars of Game Of Thrones, hosted Saturday Night Live, where they of course incorporated the HBO series into some of the sketches. The opening monologue saw some guest appearances from Harington’s GoT co-stars, while a pre-recorded sketch gave us a promo of HBO’s multiple planned Game Of Thrones spinoff series.

The Princess and the Fangirl
Once Upon A Con Book 2: A Geekerella Fairy Tale
Sequel to Book 1 Geekerella
Hardcover | Kindle | Audiobook
By Ashley Poston
Publisher: Quirk Books
Release date: April 2, 2018

In The Princess and the Fangirl, writer Ashley Poston returns to the world she built in 2017’s Geekerella, with a Prince and the Pauper-type switch between a famous actress and her fangirl double.

In this Geekerella spin-off, the action takes place once again at the annual ExcelsiCon convention, where the main attraction is Starfield, a long-running beloved scifi franchise about to see a sequel to its recent big-screen reboot (think Star Trek). At the con, Starfield fangirl Imogene is on a mission to #SaveAmara, the princess played by Oscar-nominated Jessica Stone who was seemingly killed off in the reboot. Unfortunately, Jessica, who we were introduced to in Geekerella, doesn’t want her character to be saved, because not only does she not “get” the whole fandom aspect, she’d rather move on to more serious acting roles.

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey banner

Now that we know that Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music is coming Summer 2020 with stars Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reprising their respective title roles, everyone is wondering what other familiar faces will be returning and how the filmmakers will address, if at all, the absence of the late George Carlin.

Today, the official Bill & Ted Twitter account confirmed that William Sadler, the actor who played the Grim Reaper in the second movie, 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, will be reprising his role for the new film.
