If you are not familiar with this film, Michael Cera plays Scott Pilgrim, a pretty awesome guy who is in a band and has a high-school girlfriend. Ryder On The Storm #1Ryder On The Storm #1
Written By: David Hine
Art By: Wayne Nichols
Cover Art: Francesco “Matt” Mattina
Price: $1.00
Publisher: Radical Publishing
Release date: July 27, 2010

When it comes to comics, I am a huge fan of non-superhero books, I love comics that have normal characters in them. Ryder On The Storm is one of these books that grabbed my attention at the beginning and never let go until the sudden ending.

The book starts off with a woman in a towel walking through a trashed apartment to a telephone with a whining noise in the background. She calls Ryder, a private detective with his own agency, Ryder Investigations. While she is on the phone the panels cut to a shot where we see a lot of blood and then we see a man’s body covered in blood with holes in his head, in his hand’s he’s holding a power drill and there’s pills right by him.

space
Jedi of Doom   |

Green Lantern - KronaWe learned at the Green Lantern panel at the San Diego Comic-Con last month that every Green Lantern Corps member would be shown on the planet Oa in Green Lantern. But what Oan citizens will show up in the upcoming Warners Bros big-screen adaptation?

According to Comic Book Movie, the character of Krona will make an appearance in Green Lantern, which stars Ryan Reynolds in the title role.

Krona will be involved in a scene that features another character from Green Lantern lore named Parallax (the panel also yielded the news that Parallax would be in the film). The scene is reportedly Earth-based, but what Krona’s involvement with Parallax is is unknown at this time.

Week of Geek: San Diego Comic Con International 2010

SDCC 2010: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Panel: Michael Cera 02Well as we all know 2010 San Diego Comic-Con is going on and one of the biggest movies of the summer Scott Pilgrim vs. The World had its panel yesterday in Hall H; the Geeks of Doom crew was there and had some cool things to report, along with tons of pictures, which you can see here below.

This was one of the best and most talked about panels at Comic-Con. The panel started with a video clip about the movie with footage and interviews with director Edgar Wright and actor Michael Cera and the rest of the cast.

Wright was the first to come out on stage and one of the first things he said was “It’s hard to follow Stallone,” referring to the fact that Stallone and the cast of The Expendables were the previous panel.

First out was Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley and they talked about how O’Malley never believed that his book would be this big. Wright further added that the movie would be released in “fabulous 2-D.”

Dynamite Entertainment
Price: $3.99
Release date: July 2010

When I was a kid and the FX Network first started they would show the classic episodes of The Green Hornet and I would watch every single one of them. I looked up the Green Hornet back then. Well now our favorite green hat hero and trusty sidekick have their own comic series, Green Hornet: Year One.

I love this series because it tells the origins of these two characters and how they first started fighting crime in the streets of Chicago. Green Hornet: Year One #4 focuses on not only the Green Hornet and Kato taking on the mob in Chicago, but on Kato’s origin as well.
