New Comic Series Based On ‘Halo Reach’ Out In September
space
Merkader   |

Halo: Reach is a highly anticipated game for the Xbox 360. Halo: Fall of Reach is a best-selling novel based in the Halo universe that tells about the creation of Master Chief, the protagonist in the first three Halo games. Why stop with just two high selling properties? In September, we will see the premiere of Halo: Fall of Reach “Boot camp #1″ from Marvel Comics and 343 Industries.

The comic will basically retell the same story told in the novel from a few years back. The writer for the series will be Brian Reed, with the art done by Felix Ruiz.

E3 2010: Nintendo Revives Many Old Properties and Goes A Little 3D!
space
Merkader   |

We’ve seen the big news from the other big gaming companies and during their Nintendo E3 Keynote week, we’re found out what Nintendo will have to offer in the coming year.

The first new game announced was one that I know I’ve been waiting a few years to hear about — a new Zelda game! Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword. It has an updated look for Link, and controls with, as one would expect, the Wii motion controllers. The Wiimotion plus is used for movement and swiping your sword, while the nunchuck is used to raise your shield. There are other weapons including a slingshot, which did not go so well in the demonstration. We’ll see if the game control for distance weapons is as poor when the game is released.

New Game Mode for ‘Battlefield Bad Company 2’
space
Merkader   |

Looking for a new addition to Battlefield Bad Company 2? Well you’re in luck, because coming out tomorrow is the addition of Onslaught mode, Battlefield’s version of Gears of War 2‘s Horde mode, or Fire Fight in Halo 3: ODST. The big difference? Those games came with that mode FOR FREE. If you want it for BFBC2, you’ll have to shell out 10 bucks, or 800 Microsoft Points, if that’s how you roll. I think it’s kind of silly to have people pay for a game mode that has become a staple of the shooting genre.

Also coming out tomorrow for Playstation 3, already out for Xbox, is something they are calling “Kit Shortcuts.” Basically if you don’t want to actually play the game to level up, but want all the best guns you can just pay $6.99 for one (560 MS points) or $19.99 (1600 MS points) for all of them. Kind of confused by the point of this one as well, isn’t part of the fun of playing the actual leveling up? I mean, I know it sucks when everyone else has better guns, but just deal with it until you level up as well.

E3 2010: ‘Fable 3’ Demo Shows Off Gameplay
space
Merkader   |

We’ve seen a few different trailers for Fable 3, but we haven’t seen too much gameplay footage, until now. Straight from E3 comes a 6-minute look at the demo that all the insiders got to play. One of the developers actually walks us through many of the new features of the next game in the successful franchise.

One of the new features is a new way to equip your items, instead of the menu of old, you see it all in a 3D environment. In the demo this looked visually pleasing, but cumbersome. The touch feature, where you can touch those in the environments is also featured. Another new piece is how spells are done. You now wear gauntlets on your hand for spells. Put a different spell on each hand and the spells are combined.

In Fable your actions always changed your appearance. Now in the game your actions also change the appearance of your weaponry. Enough about it from me, though, take a look below and let us know what you think in the comments. Will you be picking this game up when it comes out on October 26th?

‘Fallout’ Online MMO Beta Sign Up
space
Merkader   |

Here I am minding my own business, getting ready to write a post updating Fallout New Vegas with some gameplay footage revealed at E3 and what do I come across? Beta sign ups for the Fallout MMO!

I remember hearing about this awhile ago, but there were legal issues about who was allowed to use the Fallout name. Well I guess those have been settled. In a week where there is already so much gaming news I certainly did not expect something new outside of E3, especially with no accompanying announcement.
