BookExpo 2019 hit the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City last month, and besides the aisles and aisles of wonderful words, there were also… puppies and kittens! Dr. Gary Weitzman – National Geographic author, veterinarian, and President & CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, was in attendance to promote his new pet reference guide, Complete Guide to Pet Health, Behavior, and Happiness.

Early last month, BookCon 2019 held the highly anticipated panel for NOS4A2, the new AMC show based on the novel by Joe Hill. Joe Hill and showrunner Jami O’Brien wowed the crowd with clips and quips before letting the audience take over. The panel started off with the trailer for the exciting new series. Zachary Quinto is absolutely creepy as Charlie Manx, while Ashleigh Cummings has just the right combination of toughness and vulnerability.

Nick Frost, star of such movies as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and At World’s End, and most recently, Fighting With my Family, and currently in AMC’s Into the Badlands, was a delight to fans at the Great Philly Comic-Con earlier this month, where he did photo ops, autographs, and a meaty panel. The panel gave us fans a chance to hear the man behind the mirth, and he did not disappoint. After getting comfy on the couches, they got right into it.

The Great Philadelphia Comic-Con was this past weekend and with it came droves of fans of TV, comics, video games, and movies. A smaller convention, nevertheless, it was a satisfying mix of everything you love about these gatherings, especially the panels. Game of Thrones‘ Jack Gleeson, who played King Joffrey, graced us peasants with his presence, and let the eager crowd know what he was up to these days.
