| Happy First Contact Day! Only 50 More Years Til We Meet The Vulcans
Happy First Contact Day, everyone! In only 50 short years, we’ll finally make first contact on this day, according to the Star Trek universe. April 5, 2063 marks the day when the human race makes “first contact” with an alien race, namely The Vulcans. The historic meeting comes right after Dr. Zefram Cochrane pilots his ship the Phoenix and successfully achieves warp flight for the first time. The pilot of the Vulcan ship T’Plana Hath traces the warp signature back to Earth and lands right at the Phoenix launch site where he greets Dr. Cochrane with the Vulcan Salute. These events are depicted in the Star Trek: The Next Generation feature film, Star Trek: First Contact. | King Tut Learns You Can’t Take It With You, Signs On For ‘Mummy’ Reboot
Looking to bring some authenticity to the planned reboot of The Mummy franchise, director Len Wiseman and Universal Pictures have snagged Tutankhamun, the 18th dynasty Egyptian pharaoh, to star in the new film. Best known as King Tut, the once-popular pharaoh is reportedly hellbent on making a comeback, as interest in Tut and his many possessions have waned a lot since his tomb was discovered back in 1922. To help make his leap to the silver screen, Tutankhamun is being rep’d by Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, who hope their client’s involvement in the Universal Pictures sequel will promote tourism and raise Egyptology back from the dead.

| Michael Bay To Direct Solo Jar Jar Binks ‘Star Wars’ Movie
Just when you thought we had reached a calm in the midst of what seemed to be daily rumors and announcements in regards to the new Star Wars movies, a new rumor has started making the rounds in the industry. Word out of Hollywood is that director Michael Bay has been tapped to direct a standalone film set in the Star Wars universe. The film will chronicle the further adventures of fan favorite Jar Jar Binks and once and for all prove that he is the central character of the Star Wars mythos. According to an unnamed source that requested anonymity due to the fact that they don’t exist, stated that the film will touch on all eras of the Star Wars timeline, starting with Jar Jar’s conception by Emperor Palpatine during his wild college days, moving through to show that he was the one who actually destroyed the second Death Star and that he is a totally cool character that no one should make fun of.

Marvel Studios has confirmed various internet rumors that Robert Redford will be playing the villain MODOK in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Check out the first look at Redford in character here below! The Hollywood icon will be joining Avengers stars Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson Cobie Smulders, and Scarlett Johansson, along with Anthony Mackie, Toby Jones, Hayley Atwell, Emily VanCamp, with Frank Grillo as Crossbones and Georges St-Pierre as Batroc The Leaper, all set to star in the film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
