If you’re looking for the perfect geeky boy-meets-girl story to read for Valentine’s Day, look no further than Night Of The Living Trekkies by Kevin David Anderson and Sam Stall, where a Star Trek knowledgeable bellhop and a Slave Leia booth babe meet up at a Star Trek convention that’s about to be invaded by zombies! Grab it for your Kindle so you can read it immediately. Some Kindle devices have the text-to-speech feature, which is enabled for this book, so you can turn that on and you and your sweetheart can listen to the robot read you the book! Or, if you’re real fancy, curl up with your soulmate and a trusty phaser and listen to the Audio Book together. Geek love, ain’t it grand? For more on my thoughts on the book, check out the review I did for Night Of The Living Trekkies when it was first released back in 2010.

If you’re a fan, you can share some love-themed Creepy Valentine’s Day e-cards with your someone special. Check out the Dark Horse official Facebook page to share the love! Be sure to use the hashtag “#LoveBites” when you pass it around so all you Creepy lovers can find each other. Be sure to get your hands on Creepy Comics #11 at your local comic book shop or online, or you can get a digital copy at Dark Horse Digital. From what I understand, Uncle Creepy was pretty pissed that he didn’t get a single Valentine’s Day card this year!

While writing up a recent story about how The Misfits’ new double-live CD, Dea.d. Alive, is streaming online for free right now, I noticed that the band’s official site had an ad up about some limited-edition Valentine’s Day items. One of these limited edition holiday items is The Misfits Fiend Valentine T-Shirt, which features the band’s familiar skeletal Fiend mascot inside a red bleeding heart (with the band logo on the back in red). The ad (as seen here above) also had the same red heart design on a black mug, and let me tell you… I want that mug, I need that mug!!!

Merry Christmas to you all from us here at GeeksOfDoom.com – and we all know what Christmas means, right? That’s right: a brand new Doctor Who episode! Series 7 continues with the annual Christmas Special of Doctor Who entitled The Snowmen. Seeking refuge and isolation in Victorian London, and protected by some faithful allies, the Doctor becomes a recluse after losing his previous companions. However, as he broods, a new evil plot is hatched by a new foe with connections to some long-ago adventures the Doctor has experienced. During TARDISblend 58, we analyze the new Doctor Who, which comes complete with new iconic show titles and theme, and the debut (or is it?) of new companion Clara (Jenna Louise-Coleman). We discuss the new elements giving clues to Steven Moffat‘s overarching plots, as well as several cameo references to Classic Doctor Who in this episode. Also, we have a look at the performances from some of the special guests in this episode by Richard E. Grant, and Sir Ian McKellen. All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!
