Directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes), Pet Sematary is the second film adaptation of the 1983 Stephen King novel, after Mary Lambert’s 1989 movie. Starring Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow, the story follows a family that discovers a mysterious graveyard in the woods behind their new home.

Disney’s Mulan remains one of their best animated features during their renaissance. Based on a Chinese folktale, the animated film followed a young female who disguised herself as a male soldier in order to join the army so that her ailing father would not have to go.

Now with Disney turning their animated classics into live-action films, it was only a matter of time before they looked to Mulan.

Directed by Niki Caro, the live-action version stars Yifei Liu as the title star who will defend the honor of her family and become one of the most noble soldiers in the Chinese army. Check out the trailer here below.

Things have been moving along swimmingly for the casting of director Rob Marshall‘s The Little Mermaid. The new telling is the latest Disney film to get a live-action treatment.

Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, Can You Ever Forgive Me), Jacob Tremblay (Room, The Predator), and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, The Farewell) are in talks to play Ursula, Flounder, and Scuttle, respectively. And now the most important character of all has been cast.

Disney has confirmed that Halle Bailey will play Ariel in the new live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. More on this below.

Disney’s reimagining of their 1994 animated classic The Lion King is set to hit theaters later this month, and in anticipation of the film’s release, the studio has unveiled a brand new batch of photos.

But these aren’t your ordinary photos. Since the film touts some of the most advanced photorealistic technology to date, it matches the cast with the respective characters they are voicing. Check out the images below.

Part of the Disney formula lately is to turn their animated classics into live-action films. And for the most part, they have been commercial hits. This year alone, we’ve seen Dumbo and Aladdin reach the number one spot at the box office. Let’s not forget that they also have The Lion King and Maleficent 2 coming out in theaters later this year. According to various reports, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, Can You Ever Forgive Me), Jacob Tremblay (Room, The Predator), and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, The Farewell) are all in various stages of negotiations to star in the film about a rebellious teenage mermaid who dreams of being amongst the surface dwellers.
