| Kevin Smith’s ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ Sequel Gets The Greenlight From Saban, Universal
It’s been nearly two years since Kevin Smith revealed that he had written a sequel to his 2001 comedy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Now we know that the sequel, titled Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, is officially happening with word that Saban Films and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group have given the project the greenlight. Saban has acquired the North American rights, while Universal has the foreign rights. The movie will once again star Jason Mewes and Smith, reprising their roles as Jay and Silent Bob, and will make fun of Hollywood’s obsession with reboots, remakes, and sequels while at the same time being all three itself.

| New ‘Pet Sematary’ TV Spot Teases Return Of Zelda
Paramount has released a new TV spot for Pet Sematary, the latest adaptation of Stephen King‘s novel of the same name. The TV spot is extremely short at only 15 seconds, but it teases a character who will no doubt be of interest to fans of King’s book and the 1989 movie adaptation which stole sleep from so many: Zelda. The name alone causes me to start sweating nervously. I’ve never even played any of the video games because of it. You can check out the TV spot below.

Steven Spielberg‘s West Side Story has found its actress to play Maria opposite Ansel Elgort‘s Tony. It’s been confirmed that New Jersey high school student Rachel Zegler will be playing the iconic role of Maria, the love interest of Tony, who is a member of a rival street gang. Natalie Wood played Maria in the 1961 original. The film was ahead of its time and one of the few to feature a richly diverse cast that had people of color in lead roles. It was one that helped Rita Moreno, who played Anita in the original and has a role in this new take on the story, to become the iconic figure that she is now. Obviously with a film like West Side Story, any talent that is brought into the film will need to be able to sing. And before you question whether or not Zegler can sing, I suggest you take a look at the video of her singing a cover of “Shallows” from A Star Is Born. It left me floored. Check out who will be joining Zegler on the cast and the video, below.
