Though it is still in the very early days of development, Guy Ritchie‘s adaptation of Walt Disney’s animated hit, Aladdin, is coming along very nicely. While at the D23 Expo, it was announced that Egypt-born, Canada-raised Mena Massoud, and Power Rangers star Naomi Scott, would play Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, respectively. Will Smith, who was previously reported to be in talks to voice Genie, would also be confirmed for the cast. Now the cast grows by adding two new actors. Dutch-Tunisian actor Marwan Kenzari is in talks to play Jafar, the scheming advisor to the Sultan, and SNL‘s Nasim Pedrad will join the cast as a new character created for the film. More on the story below.

| TV Review: Game Of Thrones 7.4 “The Spoils of War” |

Game of Thrones
Episode 7.4 “The Spoils of War”
Directed by Mark Mylod
Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss
Starring Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Alfie Allen
HBO
Air date: August 6, 2017 WARNING: Spoilers for HBO’s Game Of Thrones…. Last week’s episode of Game Of Thrones saw the long-awaited meeting between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow, and while there might not have been the chemistry we were hoping for from the start, it was still an exciting moment. Daenerys agreed to provide Jon with the dragonglass he needs to fight the White Walkers. Meanwhile, Daenerys’ allies were bested by Cersei: The Unsullied army found a sparse Casterly Rock, where Euron Greyjoy’s fleet burned their ships; Euron also captured his niece Yara to bring to Cersei, along with Ellaria Sand and her daughter Tyene, who Cersei got her ultimate cruel revenge on. Jaime and the Lannister army slaughtered the Tyrell forces at Highgarden, where Olenna Tyrell met her end, but she got the last word: She tells Jaime to tell Cersei that it was she who killed Joffrey. This week’s episode, Episode 7.4 “The Spoils of War,” opens up with Jaime Lannister and his forces (including the Tarlys) in the Reach coming from their attack on Highgarden, where they slaughtered the Tyrells and their army, riding off with their gold and provisions. Bronn is there by Jaime’s side, bitching about how he never got the prize he was promised – a castle of his own. Jaime is giving Jon Snow a run for his money in the brooding department, which Bronn points out. Jaime is on his way to deliver all that Tyrell gold to Cersei at King’s Landing, so she can repay their debt to the Iron Bank.

The Dark Tower
The 4DX Experience
Directed by Nikolaj Arcel
Screenplay by Akiva Goldsman & Jeff Pinkner, Anders Thomas Jensen & Nikolaj Arcel
Based on the novels by Stephen King
Starring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Claudia Kim, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee, Jackie Earle Haley
Sony/Columbia Pictures
Release date: August 4, 2017 My wife and I got a chance to take in Regal’s newest way to watch”¦ check that, experience a film, 4DX. 4DX takes the normal theater experience and combines it with a day at the amusement park, making movie-watching a full-body occasion. The film we watched, The Dark Tower, is based on the Stephen King book series and lent itself quite nicely to the tricks 4DX had up its sleeves. The 4DX Experience The first thing I noticed was how big the seats are, which are individually numbered and complete with their own footrests and massive armrests. I would not want to use the cupholders, however. 4DX is not for the weak, and they actually have warning signs outside the theater akin to what you’d see in front a rollercoaster. My wife laughed when she saw each armrest had a “water on/water off” option. We figured what the hell, and left it on. Before the trailers started, the audience gets a preview of the effects 4DX offers, including seats that rock side by side, lean forward and back, jolt you from behind, and yes, splash you with spritzes of water as well as gusts of air. Imagine sitting for 90+ minutes watching a movie on a theme park ride on a day with mixed weather. We even had a fog cloud in our theater! During that preview as our chairs started hurling us around, their was audible laughter and excitement from the crowd.
