| Check Out The New ‘Drive Angry 3D’ Clip That’s Definitely NSFW |
 |

We have an edgy new clip from the upcoming Nicolas Cage actioner, Drive Angry 3D, where he plays an escapee from Hell determined to find the cult that killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. He teams with a waitress that just happens to own a ’69 Charger and is looking for her own redemption. They have three days to avenge the daughter and save the baby before Cage’s character has to go back to Hell. The plot sounds like grindhouse fun but the addition of the 3D detracts from a gritty fun feel that the film could have had. Along with Cage the film also stars Amber Heard, Billy Burke, and William Fichner. Drive Angry comes to us courtesy of director Patrick Lussier, the man responsible for White Noise 2: The Light and Dracula III: Legacy, so not only do we have to be concerned about Nicolas Cage’s sliding career but also an unproven director. To be fair though, Lussier did direct the surprisingly entertaining (not good, but still entertaining) My Bloody Valentine remake. Cage needs a fun movie. Will this be it? Check out the Red Band clip by heading below now and you be the judge.

| Will J.J. Abrams Be Able To Avoid Filming ‘Star Trek 2’ In 3D? It always warms my heart to hear that another decent filmmaker isn’t interested in shooting a huge franchise movie in 3D, especially when that filmmaker is J.J. Abrams and the franchise is Star Trek.
Abrams said Paramount approached him about shooting the sequel to his 2009 revamped Star Trek film in 3D, but he wasn’t very enthusiastic about the idea, according to a recent interview. “I have nothing against 3D in theory. But I’ve also never run to the movies because something’s in 3D,” Abrams told NY Mag. “[As for Trek], as soon as I read the script, if it says, ‘Somebody pushes a weapon toward the camera in a menacing way,’ and we think, ‘That’d be better in 3D!’… I dunno.”

| Will Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ Be In 3D?
For those who are not aware, yes, Baz Luhrmann, the director behind visually stunning musicals like Moulin Rouge! and beloved story re-imaginings like Romeo + Juliet, is working on a new adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s classic novel, The Great Gatsby. The movie is currently set to star Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire with hopes for release at some point in 2012, but it was something that Luhrmann said at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that has eyebrows raising the world ’round. Luhrmann said that though no official decision has been made, he has “workshopped” Gatsby using 3D technologies and that he might ultimately decide to create his version of the story about glitz and glam and bootlegging during post World War I Prohibition in the roaring 1920s.

The still-thriving 3D technologies being used in making movies today continue to dominate your local cinemas week-in and week-out. But where you haven’t seen this movie-watching phenomenon show up much yet, is in your own homes. The purchase and use of 3D-ready television sets is still in its infancy and many have yet to throw down the amount of cash it would take to obtain one. Nevertheless, we do move closer and closer to everyone having a 3D TV in their homes, and we will be seeing many more movies becoming available with the added dimension on Blu-ray at their local retail outlets. A few of these special Blu-ray 3D products have already been made available to those who do have the ability to watch them by Walt Disney, who always seems to be right on their game. They’ve already put out titles like Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and Robert Zemeckis’s A Christmas Carol in the format, but now many more are on the way for 2011.

| Tommy Wiseau Talks Releasing ‘The Room’ In 3D/Blu-ray, New Clothing Line
Fans of Tommy Wiseau‘s so-bad-it’s-oh-so-good cult classic, The Room, will be thrilled to know that you have not seen the last of the movie’s offerings. Talking to Entertainment Weekly recently, Wiseau confirmed that he has full intentions of releasing The Room not only on Blu-ray with lots and lots of behind-the-scenes features, but that he also plans on giving the movie a full 3D makeover, complete with a theatrical re-release. Wiseau spoke about the conversion, saying “The process is very detail-oriented. But we want to do it because I’m obsessed about 3D right now, if you ask me.” He even touched on his own gluteus maximus and its three-dimensional inclusion, adding “My bottom will have to be in 3-D because I’m not changing anything, so you’ll be very close.”
